WATCH: Met Eireann forecast shows huge size of Storm Agnes as it bears down on Ireland

A graphic released by Met Eireann this evening shows the scale of Storm Agnes and the projected track of the powerful storm over the country. 

In a post on X, Met Eireann is warning that it will be very wet and windy and the storm track northwards over the country adding that disruption will be likely in places.

A Status Orange Wind Warning is now in place for Carlow, Kilkenny, Wexford, Wicklow, Cork, Kerry, Tipperary and Waterford. 

Met Eireann is warning that there will be very strong and gusty southerly winds, with some severe and damaging gusts with potential impacts including coastal flooding, difficult travel conditions, power outages and fallen trees. The warning is valid from 9am on Wednesday until 5pm on Wednesday.

There is also a Status Orange Rain warning for Cork, Kerry and Waterford. Met Eireann is warning that there will be spells of heavy and occasionally intense rain, combined with very strong and gusty winds. That warning is in place from 9am on Wednesday until 3pm on Wednesday.

Separately, there is a Status Yellow Rain Warning for Carlow, Dublin, Kilkenny, Wexford, Wicklow, Cork, Kerry, Waterford with Met Eireann warning of heavy rain for these areas. That warning is in place from 7am on Wednesday until midnight.

A fourth warning issued is a Status Yellow Wind Warning for Leinster, Munster, Galway with Met Eireann warning that it will become very windy on Wednesday with very strong and gusty southerly winds, veering westerly later on. This warning is also in place from 7am on Wednesday until midnight.
