A TULLAMORE golfer has played a starring role on a Leinster inter-provincial winning side. Evan Monaghan and the Leinster Under 16 team won the All Ireland Inter Provincial championship held at Ballykisteen Golf Club 21st and 22nd August.
Rahan youth Evan, a student at Killina Secondary School, played Danny Lyne, Munster Tuesday morning, winning 4 and 3 and Eoin Kelly, Connaught Tuesday afternoon, winning 7 and 6.
Leinster entered Wednesday's final round Vs Ulster requiring 2 full points to win. Evan paired with Sean Cooper led in the foursomes narrowly losing on the 18th, but Leinster took 3 points out of the 5 on offer to win the championship outright.
