Man charged with false imprisonment and threatening to kill in Offaly

A MAN was sent forward for trial to the next sitting of Tullamore Circuit Court, sitting on December 5, when he appeared at last week's district court.

David Daly (18), Forthouse, B&B, Kilbeggan, is charged with unlawfully taking possession of a vehicle without the consent of the owner David Feeney on January 16, 2023.

On a date unknown between February 1 and February 23, 2022 at 16 Beechmount Park, Mucklagh, he is charged with handling stolen property, a lawn mower, compressor, hedge clippers and garden strimmers knowing they were stolen

Also on January 16, 2023 he did without lawful excuse threaten to kill or cause serious harm to David Feeney. On the same date he is accused of falsely imprisoning David Feeney and Joshua Feeney at Cloncreen Clonbullogue.

Garda Kieran Fitzpatrick served Mr Daly with the book of evidence.

Judge Andrew Cody advised Mr Daly that if he intends to call an alibi he must inform the state within 14 days of last week's district court sitting.

There was no application for bail and Mr Daly was remanded in custody to December 5, 2023 when he will appear before Judge Keenan Johnson at the next sitting of Tullamore Circuit Court.
