A TULLAMORE Garda told a recent sitting of the district court that a defendant made an unusual comment in the Garda Station.

Belkacem Bouchentouf, 19 Arden Vale, Tullamore was charged with being intoxicated in Tullamore Garda Station on June 22, 2022.

Garda David Harney told the court that 4.20am in the public office of Tullamore Garda Station Mr Bouchentouf came in highly intoxicated and irate.

"He told me that the CIA had planted dead birds in his house. I talked to him for twenty minutes and told him that there was nothing I could do about such a request. I asked him to leave but he wouldn't leave. He told me to f*** off," Garda Henry said.

Mr Bouchentouf told the court that he didn't tell Garda Harney that the CIA did this.

“My house was closed and there was no way the birds got in on their own,” he told the Judge. “Somebody must have put them there. And it's happened on five occasions. Three nails were also put into my tyres.”

He said that on June 22 he had some drink taken “but I wasn't drunk. My behaviour was terrible because I was very upset.”
He had no previous convictions.

Judge Andrew Cody convicted and fined €250.
