A free recycling services is available to businesses in Offaly during May

KMK Metals Recycling are offering local businesses across the counties of Offaly and Westmeath the chance to avail of a free WEEE collection during the month of May for any old or broken IT equipment or small appliances.

The reason behind this offer is to encourage businesses within the vicinity to take advantage of the recycling service on their doorstep and use it as an opportunity to give a new lease of life to e-waste that has been piling up in their offices and places of work.

KMK Metals Recycling operates out of two state-of-the-art facilities in Tullamore, Co. Offaly and Kilbeggan, Co. Westmeath and is responsible for recycling approximately 80% of all the e-waste in Ireland.

General Manager of KMK Metals Recycling, Max Kyck, commented: “Given the huge scale of e-waste we collect across the country, we feel that our own local businesses should be leading the way and setting an example for other counties. Electrical items that no longer serve any purpose, still contain valuable raw materials, and our mission is to ensure that these goods are recycled with any useful elements ultimately put back into production as per the circular economy model. Rather than having old IT equipment, phones or appliances gathering dust in office storage space, we are giving local businesses in Offaly and Westmeath the opportunity to have it collected and recycled for free.

Businesses wishing to take advantage of this offer can go to www.kmk.ie/collectionrequests and complete the online form, quoting ‘May’ in the ‘additional information’ box. There is a limit of one free collection per business.

No industrial items or refrigeration equipment will be collected as part of this offer. A recycling charge would apply for these items.
