Gardai fine tow truck operator in the Midlands
Gardai in the Midlands stopped a tow truck for being overweight recently.
Laois Roads Policing Unit stopped a small recovery truck carrying large SUV at a checkpoint in Cappakeel.
Gardai say the vehicle was suspected to be in excess of its maximum design weight. The vehicle was taken to a local designated weigh bridge where it was found to be 300 kgs overweight.
Gardai say a €200 fine and penalty points were issued to the driver.
