Darragh Kenny
Offaly's Darragh Kenny claimed the top spot in the $226,000 Bainbridge Companies Grand Prix in Wellington, Florida on Sunday evening.
Completing what has been a great weekend of sport for Irish riders around the glove, Darragh Kenny won the 1.60m- Grand Prix at the CSI4* in Wellington, Florida this evening, Sunday the 26th of March.
Riding the 13-year-old mare Vancouver Dreams, Belmont man Kenny jumped clear in the opening round, securing his place in the seven-way jump-off. Kenny once again produced a faultless round, in the winning time of 36.18 seconds, an impressive 1.67 seconds ahead of his nearest rival.
The result came as no surprise as Kenny and the Max Kühner-owned mare finished first and second in the CSI3* in the same venue last month.
America's Lillie Keenan, riding Fasther, finished in second place followed by Belgium's Nicola Philippaerts with Luna Van't Ruythershof Z.
An unfortunate fence down in the jump-off left Derry's Daniel Coyle and Quintin in sixth place.
