Shane Lowry will compete in the US Masters

THE annual Esker Hills to Augusta golf competitions will take place on Easter weekend. A very popular fixture in the midlands golfing calendar, the three days of golf will take place on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, April 7, 8 and 9.

The competitions co-incide with the US Masters in Augusta where Esker Hills' most famous son, Shane Lowry will be competing.

The competition was introduced when Shane Lowry qualified for the Masters some years ago and it has really grown in popularity since then.

It has attracted golfers from all over Ireland, international visitors and many have returned on an annual basis.

The entry fee is 30 euros each day and the format is singles stableford. There is prizes each day and slots can be booked by phoning 057 9355999 or 086 3423662. Full catering is available at the club house.
