Offaly U20 football hero to be Grand Marshall of village St Patrick's Day parade

Offaly U20 football hero to be Grand Marshall of village St Patrick's Day parade

Cathal Donoghue celebrates after Offaly wins the All-Ireland U-20 football final

Mountbolus St Patrick's Day Parade will be back on March 17 next and promises to be bigger and better than ever.

It has been a long wait since the last parade in 2019 and people are looking forward to getting out and enjoying St Patrick's Day.

This year there will be some new categories with two perpetual trophies to be won as well as all the usual categories.

A new feature of the parade this year will be the introduction of a Grand Master  who will cut the ribbon to start the parade.

Organisers are very fortunate to have an All Ireland winning captain to fill that berth Cathal Donoghue. Cathal was captain of our victorious U-20 footballers in an All Ireland final where he gave a man of the match performance.

Refreshments will be served in the hall after Mass and prior to the Parade starting at 11.30 sharp.

All entries are free. So come along and enjoy the return of the parade for the first time since 2019.
