Offaly senior hurlers make changes for Cork game

Killian Samspon in action against Galway

OFFALY senior hurling manager Michael Fennelly and his selectors have made a number of changes for Sunday's National Hurling League Division 1A game against Cork in Birr.

Offaly were heavily beaten by Galway in their opener last Sunday and management have tried to freshen things up for the visit of Cork, who had a big win over Clare.

The same goalkeeper and six defenders have been named again but there are changes from midfield up. Ross Ravenhill is not named at midfield with Eimhin Kelly moved out from the half forward line.

Adrian Cleary and Luke O'Connor are demoted to the subs bench and three players have been drafted into the starting line-up in the attack: Brian Duignan, Liam Langton and David Nally – the trio came on in the Galway defeat.

Late changes are a regular occurence by most teams in the modern GAA world and it remains to be seen what way Offaly will line out, though they did start the selected fifteen in Salthill last Sunday.
