'Edenderry is particularly indebted to Simon. The construction of a New Ambulance Base in Edenderry and the refurbishment of Ofalia House represented major investments in Edenderry, that were delivered when Simon served as Minister for Health.'

Fine Gael Group Leader on Offaly County Council, Cllr Liam Quinn has this morning backed Simon Harris T.D. to become the next leader of Fine Gael.

Said Cllr Quinn: “I have known Simon for many years and through out this time he has proven himself to be one of our most diligent and efficient Ministers.”

The Rhode based councillor said “he Fine Gael family need a leader who embodies the core values of the party and I believe Simon is best placed to take on this role.

“My own Municipal District of Edenderry is particularly indebted to Simon. The construction of a New Ambulance Base in Edendery and the refurbishment of Ofalia House represented major investments in Edenderry, that were delivered when Simon served as Minister for Health.”

Cllr Quinn added that “this is a crucial junction for Fine Gael and for councillors like me who will contest local elections in 12 weeks’ time.”

“ As someone who came through the Local Government system Simon Harris knows how to win elections and has a proven ability to connect with the electorate. Fine Gael must demonstrate to the Irish people, that we are the party best placed to navigate through the challenges ahead. Simon Harris is the undoubtedly the best person to lead us in this task.”
