The history of Walsh Island will be launched this Sunday afternoon
A new history of Walsh Island is to be launched this Sunday afternoon by the local historical group.
“A history of Walsh Island through its people” features memories, historical articles, stories from the bogs and many photographs and illustrations.
It will be launched at 3pm on Sunday at Mountlucas wind farm (beside the Fas centre and on the R400 road) and all are welcome.
The work of Michael O'Rourke and his team in the Mountlucas historical group has been praised by Offaly History.
In a web post the society comments: “We have the book in stock at Offaly History Centre and it is €20. You can also order it from us online for Walsh Islanders from around the world. www.offalyhistory.com.”
