Noel Tynan, a native of Coolderry, is the 2022 Offaly Person of the Year
The annual Offaly Person of the Year awards night which will be held on this Saturday evening in the Bridge House Hotel in Tullamore.
Coolderry native, Noel Tynan has been selected as the 2022 Offaly Person of the Year.
A successful business man, Mr Tynan has been based in Dublin for the past number of decades where he is proprietor of the Celt bar, restaurant and hotel on Talbot Street in the heart of the capital.
Mr Tynan is also involved in a number of other business ventures providing valuable employment.
He is also deeply immersed in GAA affairs and is a staunch supporter and sponsor of both his native Coolderry and the Faithful county.
The 2022 Unsung Hero of Offaly award recipient is Edenderry man, Shane Loughlin.
He was selected for his work in reviving the Edenderry St Patrick's Day Parade, the organising of fundraising tractor tuns for charity and for arranging the visit of Santa and Mrs Claus to all the estates in Edenderry prior to the Christmas.
Mr O'Loughlin is also involved in a host of other good causes in north Offaly.
The awards ceremony takes place in the Bridge House Hotel, Tullamore on Saturday, April 15 next.
Tickets, priced at €45, for the gala occasion are now available from any member of the organising sub-committee or from the front reception in the Bridge House Hotel.
The sub-committee members are Offaly Association Chairperson Jennifer Guinan, Drumcullen and Dublin, Liam Fleury, Drumcullen and Dublin, Pat Teehan, Coolderry and Birr, Noel McCann, Daingean and Tullamore, Peter Carter, Edenderry and Ger Scully, Tullamore and Killavilla.
