Offaly accountant wins two prizes for academic excellence
Samantha Taylor, from Tullamore, was the recipient of two awards for academic excellence by the Institute of Certified Public Accountants in Ireland (CPA Ireland) as she was conferred with membership of CPA Ireland on Saturday last in Croke Park.
The award marks her accomplishments in the CPA Ireland examinations and best performance in the papers on F2 Management Accounting and F2 Financial Accounting.
Speaking at the conferring of new CPA accountants Deirdre Kiely, President of CPA Ireland said; “I am delighted to say that we continue to see full employment among newly conferred CPAs, reflecting the strong reputation among employers for the CPA qualification."
"The demand for accountants reflects the continued growth in the economy and has reached new heights with employers telling us they are now finding it increasingly difficult to fill vacant positions," she added.
"With fantastic career opportunities and continued strong demand for qualified accountants, I would encourage leaving certificate and undergraduate students to seriously consider a career in accountancy. It is valuable qualification and one that opens many of doors both nationally and internationally. An accountancy qualification provides the flexibility to deliver varied and interesting career paths to all those who pursue it."
Deirdre went on to day that, “in conjunction with our sponsors, CPA Ireland each year presents an award to those students who have achieved the highest examination mark in each subject for the CPA examinations. Congratulations Samantha and to all the 2017 prize-winners who come from diverse roles in both practice and industry and thank you to all our partner firms involved in this event.”
