Beat on the Street fundraiser returns to Banagher this August

Banagher will host the Beat on the Street on August 3rd

BEAT on The Street Banagher returns on Saturday, August 3rd 2024.

This event has something for all ages and brings a fantastic atmosphere to the town of Banagher. From 1pm until 4pm the Main Street of Banagher will flow with family fun and games and from 4pm the Gig Rig will come alive! This year the line-up will suit everyone’s taste!! Live Forever Oasis Tribute Band, Rickie & The Walkmen, The Ríl Deal and Rise & Shine with DJ Anto on the decks throughout the day.

They can’t forget their Pop Up Shop in the centre of the town! This shop opens for only a few weeks prior to and during Beat on the Street. Make your way towards Banagher Library and you’re sure to find it – the positive energy in this shop is unmatched! Fantastic women from Banagher and the surrounding areas give their time and effort each year to sell Beat on the Street merchandise, raffle tickets and fabulous pre loved jewellery, bags & accessories! Its easy to find a bargain in this shop!

For those who are not aware of Beat on the Street Banagher, it is an annual event held on the Main Street of Banagher, County Offaly. Its purpose is to raise much needed funds for local organisations who support the community. This year will be the 5th Beat on the Street and to date, over €100,000 has been donated to local organisations. It is the commitment from local businesses, clubs, organisations, volunteers and the wider communities that make this street festival and pop-up shop an annual success.

The proceeds of this year’s Beat on the Street will be donated to Offaly Hospice, Birr/Banagher Mental Health Association and the Banagher Outdoor Pool Development.

Traffic Management Plan

Road Closures: Several road closures will be in place from Friday August 2nd at 4pm until Sunday August 4th at 10am. Directional signage will be erected on local roads and approach roads to guide motorists around the town away from the Main Street for the event. The link road will connect the top and bottom of the town.

The following is where the road closures and diverted traffic signs will be located:

At the Crank Road, diverting traffic & No road through to Main Street.

At Angelo’s, Diverting traffic up Church Street & No Through Road to Main Street.

Harbour Road/Curraghavarna turn, diverted traffic (Access to Service Station only).

Cuba Avenue junction with Curraghavarna, diverted traffic up/down.

At all times access will be maintained for emergency vehicles. Shop fronts and public house entrances will be kept clear making it possible for customers to enter and exit without disruption.
