There was great excitement in Edenderry on Thursday night as former WBO Middleweight champion Andy Lee and current professional boxer Eric Donovan paid a visit to St. Joseph's Boxing Club.
Coaches and young fighters alike welcomed the pair and they spent time at the gym training with the next generation, stopping for photographs and a few words of wisdom.
Members of other local clubs were also in attendance to meet two boxers who have made a career from the sport they grew up loving and participating in.
Andy Lee is a former Irish Olympian and multiple amateur competition medallist who went on to win a world title in 2014.
Eric Donovan also represented Ireland at amateur level and since turning professional has won five fights from five, claiming the BUI Celtic featherweight title on home soil in September of this year.
Thursday night will be one that lives long in the memory of the young members of St. Joseph's as they continue their training in the hope of replicating one of these great fighters.
