'Absolutely hectic but so fun' - Interview with Offaly Rose Nicole Heffernan on Rose Tour

Offaly Rose Nicole Heffernan speaks about women's empowerment ahead of her appearance on the Rose of Tralee

The excitement is palpable as the 2025 International Rose of Tralee Festival fast approaches, with just a couple of sleeps to go until the official opening ceremony on Friday.

Journalist Aisling Magner spoke to Offaly's Nicole Heffernan at the tour's Limerick stop ahead of the RTÉ broadcast.

Nicole is a 24 year old secondary school teacher from Killeigh a small village outside of Tullamore. As an avid festival goer and with some encouragement from her grandparents Nicole bit the bullet this year and applied to entre the Offaly Rose. She is beyond excited & grateful for what the future holds throughout her Rose journey.

The Rose of Tralee international festival is a celebration of Irish heritage, friendship, and pride that continues to capture hearts around the island of Ireland and the world.

The Rose of Tralee will be available to watch for free, live and on-demand by audiences in Ireland and around the world on RTÉ Player. Features, archive footage, behind-the-scenes content and more will also be available across RTÉ.ie and RTÉ social media platforms over the coming days.
