More than 60 people came to the Tullamore Court Hotel on Tuesday, April 7th as Pieta House launched the Darkness Into Light events in the Midlands with Electric Ireland.
Taking place on Saturday, May 9th, Darkness Into Light is a unique, early morning experience which begins in darkness at 4.15am as thousands of people walk or run a 5km route while dawn is breaking.
Volunteers from the Darkness Into Light committees from Athlone, Tullamore, Mountmellick, Mullingar and Longford along with representatives from Pieta House were also there to lend their support.
This years walks starts at Mountmellick GAA Club , proceeding to Davitt Road on to St Joseph’s Terrace then on to Pearse Street, Sarsfield Street , Connolly Street and back to Davitt Road before finishing at Mountmellick GAA Club.

Pre-registration will take place in Super Valu, Mountmellick every Thursday evening up until the walk from 5.30pm to 8.30pm.
