The Black Tie Ball was a great success according to Molly Buckley, second from right

THE Annual Power 4 Good Black Tie Charity Ball held last Saturday week, December 10, in the Tullamore Court Hotel, was a great success with a big attendance.
Molly Buckley, Chairperson of Power 4 Good, speaking at the event, welcomed the capacity attendance on behalf of Power 4 Good and Accessible Counselling Tullamore (ACT)the two charities benefitting from the Power4Good Black Tie Charity Ball.
She said the organisers were indebted to main sponsor Dolans Pharmacy, who had been very generous, providing sponsorship in excess of €4,000.
“Our local pharmacies are very important in the community and this has been highlighted by the great support from all at Dolans,” stressed the Power 4 Good chief.
She also thanked all the people and businesses who gave spot prizes and sponsored tables.
Continued Ms Buckley: “We extend our thanks to Paul Moore Photography. We got great support from our local papers that helped us advertise the event and are supportive of all community events.”
She also thanked the Tullamore Court Hotel, in particular Maree, Chris, Joe, Breda and all the staff.
Ms Buckley revealed the ball was organised by a small committee who worked extremely hard and worked well together. They were Lisa Guing, Joe Connolly, Lorraine Corcoran, Aulwin Dunne and the speaker together with great help from a number of Power 4 Good volunteers.
She continued: “We have a great group of volunteers, headed up by Lorraine and Aulwin, who are absolutely committed to the work of Power4Good and who give up their time generously to work in our Charity shops in Tullamore and Clara.  They are so interested in the work in Zambia they are saving to take a trip to visit the projects in 2023 or 2024.  “
Power 4 Good is a registered charity founded in 2005, based in Tullamore, to work with people with a disability in Zambia.  They have carried out a number of human rights projects and services for children with a disability.
“We also give donations to projects locally, for services for children and young people with Autism. The vision that inspires Power4Good is a world where people with disabilities can enjoy full human rights and achieves their maximum potential.”
Ms Buckley also paid tribute to the Master of Ceremonies, Tara McCormack, the Secrets who had the dance floor full all night and Birr's Dickie Donnelly who played until 4.00 a.m.
The Best Dressed Lady was Louise McLoughlin, from the Urba table, who won prizes to the value of €1,000 sponsored by Dolans Pharmacy, The Wooden Hanger, Ritzy’s and the Tullamore Court Hotel.
