Josie Lynam with nephew George Connaughton and daughter Liz Dolan
POPULAR Tullamore octogenarian Josie Lynam, Marian Place and her daughter Liz Dolan attended the Ireland Australia international rugby clash in the Aviva stadium in Dublin last Saturday.
Josie (87) also had the opportunity to meet her Australian nephew, George Connaughton earlier on Saturday for only the second occasion in her life.
George is Logistics and Gear Manager with the Australian rugby team.
Both his parents hailed from the Offaly county town and emigrated to Australia in the 1960s.
“ We had an amazing time with him and it was my first time meeting him. Ma met him once when he was 12,” Liz told the Tribune,
Liz also knitted George a little rugby player as a keepsake of their meet up and “it has now become famous with the Wallabies.”
