The Easy Riders group present €30,000 to LOFFA
The Easy Riders group recently made a presentation of €30,000 to LOFFA (Laois Offaly Families For Autism) following their 20th anniversary cycle.
Over the past 20 years, Easy Riders have cycled more than 4000 kms and raised over €500,000 for local charities.
In her presentation speech n O’ Malley's bar in Rathdowney Orla Maher thanked the businesses and people of Rathdowney and beyond for their generosity and all who made the fundraiser possible. She also congratulated Jimmy and Helen McCormack on completing all 20 cycles.
Accepting the cheque on the night were LOFFA Chairperson Breda Murray, Vice Chairperson John Taylor and LOFFA Events and Fundraising Manager for Laois Roisin Morrin.
In their acceptance speeches they thanked the Easy Riders for choosing LOFFA as the charity to benefit from the fundraiser and how humbled they were by the amount raised.
They also explained the difference these funds would make to their membership of 126 families throughout Laois and Offaly.
The funds will be used to provide education and training, subsidized therapies and exclusive family days out for their members.
LOFFA would like to acknowledge the hard work of the Easy Riders committee members, Mary Predergast, Tina Byrne, Orla Maher, Tom Nolan and Rebecca Hickey for their drive and enthusiasm in making this fabulous event such a huge success and we wish them well for 2023 with cycle number 21.
