Flying start to the year for Offaly Volunteer Centre

DEIRDRE

Deirdre Fox, Director of the Offaly Volunteer Centre

Offaly Volunteer Centre got its year off to a flying start with the first AGM as a fully-fledged entity.

Following an administrative lead-in time of almost two years comprising of the recruitment and establishment of the Board of Directors, achieving charitable status, and launching their services, the AGM is much like a time stamp of an organisation that has had a full year around the sun.

Offaly Volunteer Centre are happy to report that the full complement of board members, (who are all voluntary), are happy to stay in their positions for the coming 12 months. Deirdre Fox, Manager, expressed her appreciation for such a dynamic, talented and enthusiastic group of people, who clearly had the success of Offaly Volunteer Centre chief amongst their concerns.

On average, each member has already given over 100 hours of their personal time in this volunteering role. “Faithful to the objectives and mission of OVC and ever faithful to beloved county Offaly,” said Ms Fox.

Martin Buckley, Chairman, thanked his fellow board members and echoed Ms Fox's sentiments.
