Entrance to the site where 92 homes are planned
A TOTAL of 92 homes will be built in Edenderry if a planning application coming before Offaly County Council is successful.
Newlyn Homes Ltd, which has already built part of the Tyrrells Brook development, is seeking permission for 32 three-bed houses, 30 two-beds, 20 four-beds and 10 one-beds in the second phase.
Access to the site will be from Fr Paul Murphy Street and the houses will be on land between Greenwood Park and Newberry, and adjacent to Tyrrells Brook.

There will be 212 car parking spaces and a creche, designed to cater for 60 children and 10 staff, is also part of the proposal.
All the houses will have an A2 energy rating using air to water heat pumps. There will also be provisions for electric car charging points.
The 92 dwellings are on part of land owned by Newlyn Homes, whose directors are Christy Dowling and Hilary Dowling. The company is located at Herbert Street, Dublin 2.
Submissions in relation to the application can be made by December 12 and a decision is due by January 9, 2026.
