Fined at Tullamore District Court
A MAN brought €300 to Tullamore District Court after admitting to stealing €296 worth of goods from a local supermarket.
Judge Valerie Corcoran heard that the items taken by Leon Keegan (35), Kyran House, St Kyran Street, Tullamore on July 3 last at Dunnes Stores, Church Road had not been recovered.
Sergeant Richard Thornton told the court Mr Keegan had been identified on CCTV. He had eight previous convictions, seven of which were for road traffic offences.

There was another conviction dating back to 2013 for entering a building to commit an offence.
Aisling Maloney, defending solicitor, said Mr Keegan had lost his nephew and had brought compensation to court though he was not working.
He was ashamed and embarrassed to be in court.
Judge Corcoran fined Mr Keegan €250 and gave him six months to pay it.
