Poetry to be recited on the banks of the Grand Canal to remember Kavanagh's love of 'stilly water'

TULLAMORE'S link with the great Irish poet, Patrick Kavanagh, is to be celebrated this evening, Thursday, July 18,  by the Wordsmith's literary group.
The evening takes place in Shane Lowry's The Old Warehouse at Bury Quay, Tullamore on the banks of the Grand Canal from 7pm to 9pm.
Chorus Connection, the Tullamore Community Choir, will also perform at the event.
Weather permitting it is hoped to recite a selection of poetry on the banks of the canal to honour Patrick’s love of water.
The Old Warehouse have very kindly agreed to provide tables and seating by the canal.
In the event of inclement weather they will provide accommodation for attendees in the Whiskey Bar.
