Film screening in Offaly to raise funds for Palestinian Red Cross

'Heart of Palestine' exhibition to explore the history and culture of Palestine

Esker Arts Centre in Tullamore is screening the Irish documentary 'Gaza' on Tuesday, January 23 next at 8pm.

The film, directed by Andrew McConnell and Garry Keane, is a beautiful portrait of every day Gazan citizens, leading meaningful lives beyond the rubble of perennial conflict.

Prior to the screening, from 7pm, Tullamore for Gaza will be hosting 'Heart of Palestine', the displaying of a number of exhibits showcasing the rich arts and culture of the Palestinian people.

These will include:

Beauty of Palestine - the history and symbolism of the Keffiyeh

Taste of Palestine - a selection of traditional Palestinian desserts

Dreams of Palestine - 'Daring to Dream' documentary - Freedom Theatre -a theatre in a refugee camp 

Voices of Palestine - a selection of poetry from Palestine

Sounds of Palestine - a celebration of Palestinian music 

Dance of Palestine - displaying the Palestinian Resistance Dance 

Proceeds go towards the Palestinian Red Cross.
