100% of 6th year students at Offaly secondary school attended third level in 2023

The Sacred Heart Schhool in Tullamore is the main feeder school for third level participation in Offaly, according to the 2023 Feeder List

In 2023, 100% of 6th year students attended third level with the majority attending University of Galway and many other students choosing DCU and Maynooth University as their first choice.

Principal, Ms Pauline Mc Kenna said that she was delighted class of 2023 had done so well given that they had all planned to attend third level and they had succeeded in their goal.

The Senior Management Team noted that the year group had a very good participation rate throughout their six years in the school and their involvement in extracurricular had always highlighted a great sense of energy and ambition.

Deputy Principal, Ms Orla Healy noted the popularity of courses such as Biomedical, Engineering and Healthcare professions and the development of the new STEM lab by the Board of Management recently reflected that growing interest in the STEM area.

The school community said that they were delighted that the school had not only maintained their high standards for their students but had built on that by providing excellent opportunities for all who attended the SHS.
