Golfers urged to support classic for Offaly based mental health charity

ACT

The golf classic takes place on June 23 next

ACT - Accessible Counselling Tullamore -is calling on all golfers to support their upcoming Golf Classic which is taking place on Friday, June 23 in Esker Hills Golf Club.
This is the second year the charity is holding a Golf Classic and they hope that the community will support this event. The main sponsor for this year’s Golf Classic is TRP.ie – Tullamore Rental Properties.
Accessible Counselling Tullamore (ACT) is a not-for-profit community-based counselling centre based in Tullamore and provides people over 14 from all across the Midlands with accessible, affordable and timely counselling and psychotherapy services.
The centre was set up by the late James O’ Connor along with his wife Lisa in January 2020. James was a local business man who owned the well-known fit out company - fititout.ie. James was also a prominent mental health advocate and See Change ambassador and was behind the local Green Ribbon campaign ‘Tullamore Goes Green’ which runs for the month of September every year and aims to reduce mental health stigma by encouraging people to talk.
It was through his work with the Tullamore Goes Green campaign that he saw the need for a sustainable model of community-based counselling services that will be accessible and affordable to all. James has left a wonderful and vital gift to the people of the Midlands and it is up to us - the community to ensure his legacy continues.
ACT is a registered charity (RCN: 20204856) and currently has 8 fully qualified IACP / IAHIP registered counsellors, who, to date, have provided counselling to over 1600 clients with numbers continuing to rise daily.
To ensure that this fundraiser is a success we would be grateful if you could support us through sponsoring a tee box / green or entering a 4 ball into the classic:
€400 entry fee/donation for a tee slot up to 4 persons
€50 donation for a tee box sponsorship or €100 to sponsor a Green.
Refreshments, food & goody bags will be provided on the day to all entrants with some added extra’s thrown in.
There are some amazing prizes up for grabs for the winners with the presentation of prizes will be held in Spollen’s Bar on the night from 9.30pm
