Award winning Offaly area honoured by council

Cllr Tony McCormack presents a certificate to Pullough residents at the recent civic reception

Pullough Residents Development Association were invited into Offaly Council Chambers recently on behalf of the 13 groups in the area who came together to showcase the best of Pullough in the national Pride of Place competition.

Having finished national runner-up in the Community Resilience category, Offaly County Council were delighted with the result and hosted a civil ceremony to acknowledge the achievement.

Pullough residents were joined by Geashill and Mucklagh representatives who were also successful in their respective categories.

Councillors, council staff and CEO Anna Marie Delaney paid tribute to, and congratulated, all groups on their successes.

On the day, Committee Officers Martin Buckley, Bridie Delaney and Eileen Devery accepted the plaque from Councillor Tony McCormack and after the civic reception, photos were taken and refreshments were served.
