Two traffic cones among rubbish taken from canal in Offaly by Tidy Towns group

Tidy Towns and Canoe Club volunteers with some of the rubbish they took from the Grand Canal

Recently volunteers from Tullamore Tidy Towns along with the Tullamore Canoe club did a litter pick of the Grand Canal from the Clara bridge to the start of Fiona’s Way in the Offaly county town.

The volunteers took away 16 bags of rubbish, two traffic cones and one shopping trolley.

“Tullamore Tidy Towns would like to thank Frankie Cunningham and the team in the Tullamore Canoe club for helping to keep the Grand Canal clean,” commented Tidy Towns chairman, Shane Murray.
