An important seminar on tourism in Offaly takes place next week in Tullamore
TOURISM industry leaders will gather at an Offaly Tourism Seminar on Thursday, March 2 next.
The seminar takes place in the Tullamore Court Hotel, with registration from 9.30am and finishing at 1pm.
This event will be a much welcome opportunity to gather industry leaders together and to network and be updated with relevant industry information.
Those in attendance, will be treated to some fantastic and informative presentations from guest speakers; Paddy Matthews, head of Operations for the Ireland’s Hidden Heartlands regional brand within Fáilte Ireland, Andrew Murray Senior Planner within Offaly County Council and Julie McLoughlin, Visitor Experience Lead at Lough Boora Parklands.
There will also be an ideation workshop with CHL Consulting Ltd., who are currently undertaking the development of a new Offaly Tourism Strategy.
Organised by Olive Farrelly, Offaly’s Tourism Officer, the event will bring industry providers together and it will be a platform to drive tourism forward for the coming year and beyond. Encouraging stakeholders to attend the event, Ms Farrelly said: “I would encourage all of the businesses both big and small who are directly involved in tourism and hospitality to attend the upcoming seminar. It will give a great insight into the future of tourism in Offaly and the Ireland’s Hidden Heartlands region and provide an opportunity for the businesses to input into our new Tourism Strategy.”
The seminar is not limited to the tourism trade. Voluntary groups, community development associations, other business sectors and individuals are most welcome. Tourism is everyone’s business, as its economic benefits are countywide and cross industry.
Offaly Tourism Marketing (CLG) is responsible for marketing and promoting Offaly as a tourism destination. Members of tourism, hospitality and any local businesses are welcome to join the tourism network and avail of its benefits.
