Oldham manager Micky Mellon was dismayed at how his side conceded from a set-piece after they played out a 1-1 draw at Fleetwood.
The hosts broke the deadlock in the 12th minute after Elliot Bonds drove a low croner into Ched Evans, who tucked away from close range.
Minutes before half-time, Ryan Woods delivered a pinpoint corner into the box and Reagan Ogle slotted home to get the Latics back into the game.
“We have done well since the Swindon game, where we acknowledged to everybody that we were poor,” said Mellon.
“I think the last two away games, we have given a really good account of ourselves, and I must say the supporters were magnificent.
“I am just gutted that we can’t send them home with a win because they were great all day.
“It was poor, it was a rubbish goal to give away. It was just nonsense at any level of football, you will be disappointed with that.
“They reacted and responded, and we got ourselves back into it again.
“We respect the point, we worked hard, it was a roasting hot day and both sets of players ran themselves to a stance at the end.
“It was a hard-fought game in difficult football conditions. We had a brilliant support and have a group of players who are working their socks off for us.
“We will take what we have got and move on. We will keep going, and on other days, we will maybe take some of those chances.”
Fleetwood boss Pete Wild was also disappointed to concede from a set-piece.
He said: “I thought we started really well, we got into those areas that I thought we would get into against Oldham’s 4-4-2.
“I thought we took a deserved lead for how we played. Oldham then changed shape and pinned us in a little bit.
“We didn’t get to grips with how Oldham had changed and we started playing the game they wanted rather than the one we wanted it to be.
“Going into half-time, I thought Oldham were the better side and that goal was coming, I was disappointed that it has come off a set-piece.
“I thought coming into 70 minutes onward that we were massively in the ascendancy again and I thought we finished the game really well.
“It has been a long few weeks and we would have liked to take more points out of the two home games.
“Elliot (Bonds) is one of those players who leads by his actions and he took a little bit of time to get on the ball and get going.
“When he did, you get what you get from him every week and a captain’s performance.”
