Football rumours: Manchester United will have to wait for Viktor Gyokeres

What the papers say

Manchester United look like they may have to wait to reunite Sweden international Viktor Gyokeres with new boss Ruben Amorim. The Mirror reports United have been told Sporting may have โ€œno optionโ€ other than to sell the 26-year-old former Coventry striker, but it is unlikely to happen in the January transfer window.

West Ham are eyeing up a move for Manchester City midfielder James McAtee. The Sun says the 22-year-old is seen as a replacement for Brazilian Lucas Paqueta if he leaves in January.

Turkey midfielder Orkun Kokcu has strengthened talk of a move to Anfield, according to the Liverpool Echo. The Benfica player, 23, has praised the impact of Liverpool boss Arne Slot on his career.

Frank Lampard is among the candidates for the vacant managerโ€™s job at Coventry, reports the Telegraph. The former Chelsea boss is expected to be among five candidates the club will speak to about replacing Mark Robins.
