Defender Jack Murray preserved Elgin City’s unbeaten start to the William Hill League Two campaign with the equaliser in a 1-1 draw with Spartans.
Lyall Booth fired over the hosts with a 10th-minute attempt and Brian Cameron forced a save from Spartans keeper Blair Carswell before the break at Borough Briggs.
Danny Denholm had gone close for the visitors, and Blair Henderson shot just wide on the stroke of half-time.
The breakthrough finally arrived 15 minutes from time when substitute Hamish Ritchie fired the visitors in front from distance.
However, the lead last just seconds as Murray headed the hosts level from Booth’s cross and, although Spartans pushed for a winner as time ran down, there was no further drama.
