An Offaly soccer club has sent well wishes to one of its players after he suffered a "horrible injury" during the club's Leinster Senior League game with Kilnamanagh AFC on Friday night.
The club took to Facebook to wish their player, Dylan Waldron, well in his recovery.
They said: "Everyone at Edenderry Town FC would like to wish our 1st team player Dylan Waldron a speedy recovery. Our 1st team game on Friday night had to be abandoned due to Dylan suffering a horrible injury.
"The club would like to thank Mdc Physiotherapy LTD and Kilnamanagh AFC physios for doing an excellent job with Dylan while he waited for an ambulance.
"Speedy recovery Dylan, everyone wishes you well."
Fans and friends commented to add to the well wishes, as did Friday night's opponents Kilmanagh AFC. The club wrote: "Speedy recovery wishes from all at Kilnamanagh A.F.C to Edenderry Town F.C player Dylan Waldron following a nasty injury on Friday night. Stay strong and we hope to see you back on the playing field again very soon. Thoughts and prayers are with you, Dylan."
