There was a strong showing from Edenderry Athletics Club at the weekend as 11 club members took part in the ever-popular Mountlucas Parkrun, adding a vibrant burst of red and black to the scenic 5km loop around the wind farm.
The group included a mix of experienced club runners, recent recruits, and several long-standing stalwarts of the club’s senior and recreational sections.
The cool, calm weather provided ideal running conditions, and Edenderry AC athletes made the most of it.
For several of the attending members, Mountlucas Parkrun served as a tune-up ahead of upcoming winter road races, while for others it was a chance to enjoy the fitness, friendship, and fun that parkrun offers.
Mountlucas parkrun takes place at Bord na Móna Mountlucas windfarm every Saturday morning at 9.30am sharp. There's something for everyone at Mountlucas parkrun whether you want to walk, run, volunteer or just meet new people.
Parkrun isn’t just a timed run: it’s about community, inclusivity, and wellbeing. Every event at Mountlucas brings together people of all ages and abilities, creating a warm, encouraging atmosphere. Whether you’re walking your first 5 km or picking up your 50th, Mountlucas parkrun offers something for everyone.
