Tullamore camogie club to highlight promotion of Irish language in town's St Patrick's Day Parade

Seachtain na Gaeilge (abbreviated to SNAG) is the single largest festival that promotes the Irish language both at home and abroad. This year Cumann Camógaíocht Thulach Mhór, Tullamore Camogie Club is raising awareness of Seachtain na Gaeilge at the club. This will form part of the requirements of Fondúireacht Sheosaimh Mhic Dhonncha the Joe McDonagh award.

To launch Seachtain na Gaeilge members of Tullamore Camogie Club along with members of Tullamore GAA and Councillor Shane Murray posed for a photograph at O Brien Park. The objective of the Gaeilge committee is to encourage club members to use their Irish. With time it is hoped that cúpla focal, a few words, will be used on a casual basis at the club. For today’s launch there could only be one word used in front of the camera namely ispíní, sausages.

As with tradition Tullamore Camogie Club will march in the Tullamore St. Patrick’s Day parade on 17th March. The club’s promotion of the Irish language will contribute to the parade’s theme. On the 23rd March Tullamore Camogie Club Irish Committee will host their first Maidin Caife, coffee morning. Bígí linn.
