Popular Offaly cafe and bakery opening second location at big tourist spot
A hugely popular café and bakery in Offaly is opening at a second location in the county after enjoying huge success over the last four years.
The Ballycommon Bake House is popular with local walkers, cyclists and GAA fans as a quiet spot on the Grand Canal to enjoy a coffee and a treat.
Now, the proprietors are expanding their empire at a second location in the county.
Onwer Aoife Pilkington took to social media to share the news. She said: "Four years ago, I was a veterinary nurse who decided to follow a dream and open a coffee shop.
"Luckily, my partner Kevin supported this mad dream. And with the help of our amazing families we've created a special place.
"We had zero experience, but we had passion and determination. With a lot of hard work and our amazing team, we are where we are today.
"And now we're ready to bring the same to the beautiful Lough Boora Discovery Park.
"Thanks to anyone who has ever supported our small business in any way.
"We will open this weekend. Please bare with us while we find our feet," she added.
