Gardai investigating ‘fatal incident’ at Dublin home

A man has died following an incident at a home in Dublin.

Gardai said they were investigating all the circumstances surrounding the death of a man following a “fatal incident” at Foxdene Drive, Balgaddy, shortly after 11pm on Wednesday.

A man, aged in his 50s, who was injured in the incident, was taken to Tallaght University Hospital where he was later pronounced dead.

A post-mortem examination will be carried out and the local coroner has been informed.

The scene remained preserved for examination by the Garda Technical Bureau on Thursday morning.

A senior investigating officer has been designated at Lucan Garda Station.

Gardai are appealing to anyone who was in the vicinity of Foxdene Drive between 11pm and 12am and observed any activity which drew their attention to come forward.

A spokesperson said: “Any road users or pedestrians who may have camera footage (including dashcam) and were in the vicinity of Foxdene Drive between 11pm and 12am are asked to make this footage available to investigating Gardai.

“Anyone with any information is asked to contact Lucan Garda Station on (01) 6667300, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111, or any Garda Station.

“Investigations are ongoing.”
