The victim, named locally as 31-year-old Paula Canty, was found dead last Friday
Gardai investigating the violent death of a woman in north Cork last week have arrested a man.
The body of the victim, named locally as Paula Canty, 31, was found at an apartment in Bridewell Lane, Mallow last Friday morning.
A murder probe was launched following the results of a post-mortem examination, the results of which are not being released by gardai for operational reasons.
However, it's understood Ms Canty, who was originally from Kinsale in County Cork, sustained a number of stab wounds.
