Photographs of the tractor, which have been shared online, show the windscreen has been replaced with timber and some glass tied together with cord while one of the tyres is 'dangerously bald'
A tractor driver who was stopped by gardai in County Clare earlier this week is facing prosecution before the courts after FOUR separate offences were detected.
Highlighting the incident on social media, gardai say members of the Roads Policing Unit encountered the tractor while on patrol in the Scarriff area, in the east of the county, as part of a Christmas and New Year operation.
Photographs of the tractor, which have been shared online, show the windscreen has been replaced with timber and some glass tied together with cord while one of the tyres is "dangerously bald".
According to gardai, there were no working lights on the tractor when it was stopped and they say it was being used to transport an "unsecure load".
Commenting on social media, a spokesperson confirmed the tractor was immediately seized and that a criminal proceedings will be initiated.
"The driver will receive a date for court in the post before Christmas," they stated.
