ALERT: Rail users warned of disruption ahead of bank holiday weekend

Customers are advised to check times on the Irish Rail website or the Iarnród Éireann app for alterations to their usual route times

Iarnród Éireann is advising rail users that temporary timetable will be put in place across the network this bank holiday weekend - impacting all routes.

Customers are advised to check times on the Irish Rail website or the Iarnród Éireann app, for alterations to their usual route times. Those wanting to book intercity travel must do so in advance on the Irish Rail website to avoid disappointment.

A series of engineering works are taking place from north of Connolly Station, Co Dublin to Dundalk, Co Louth throughout this coming weekend with a total of 350 personnel undertaking these essential works.

The tasks include overhead line renewal, track renewal, station canopy works, vegetation management and enabling works for battery-electric infrastructure.

As a result, Iarnród Éireann says there will be no DART services between Dublin Connolly and Howth. However, Dublin Bus and GoAhead services will both accept rail tickets to and from these areas.

DART services will be operating between Connolly and Greystones.

There will be no commuter rail services between Dublin and Drogheda this coming weekend. A limited bus replacement will run between Connolly and Donabate, Balbriggan and Drogheda, Dublin Connolly and Rush, Lusk, and Skerries.

There will be bus transfers operating between Dublin and Dundalk for all enterprise services, using a revised timetable for the long weekend.

Limerick, Cork and Kerry to Dublin Heuston services are operating on revised timetables for this weekend.

All direct services between Limerick/Tralee and Heuston have been cancelled.

Services with connections into Cork/Dublin trains at Mallow for Tralee customers and Limerick Junction for Limerick customers will operate.

There will be additional services will operate for a number of events, including the Dublin Marathon.

For those who wish to attend, Maynooth to Dublin Pearse will begin to run at 7:05am, serving all stations, along with Greystones to Connolly, running at the same time.

The Cork Jazz Festival is also taking place this weekend, with extra late evening services operating between Cork and Cobh, Midleton and Mallow.

Full services will operate across the rest of the network over the October bank holiday weekend, on a revised timetable.

Iarnród Éireann apologise to customers for any inconvenience from these essential works.
