Fundraiser set up after sudden death of 27-year-old Galway man

A fundraiser has been set up for a 27-year-old Galway man who died unexpectedly.

Shridhar Revanna died unexpectedly on Friday, August 1.

The young man, who was originally from Karnataka, India, worked and lived in Galway.

To help with the funeral costs, his friends have set up a GoFundMe campaign, to which you can donate here.

“It is with profound sadness that I share the news of the sudden passing of our dear friend, Shridhar who was 27 years old. On the 1st of August 2024, Shridhar left all of us unexpectedly, leaving a void that will be deeply felt by all who knew him. As we come to terms with this heartbreaking loss, we are reaching out for your support to ensure that Shridhar receives the respectful farewell he deserves,” they said.

“His family, who are back in India, wish to perform his final rituals in their homeland. In these difficult times, we are raising funds to cover the costs of his funeral in Ireland and to transport his coffin back to India so his family can honour him according to their traditions.

“This fundraiser has been organised with the full approval and endorsement of Shridhar's father, Mr. Revanna. He has expressed his gratitude for the outpouring of support and generosity from all of you during this challenging time.”

The funds raised will be used for the funeral service in Galway, the transportation of Shridhar's coffin to India, as well as to support his family during this challenging time.

“Any contribution, no matter how small, will make a significant difference. Please consider donating and sharing this message with others who may wish to help. Together, we can ensure Shridhar receives the dignified farewell he deserves and provide some comfort to his grieving family. Thank you for your kindness and support during this difficult time, they said.
