Revenue seizes almost 160,000 smuggled cigarettes at Dublin business premises

Almost 160,000 smuggled cigarettes have been seized at a business premises in South Dublin. 

According to Revenue, the seizure occurred last Friday (May 3) as part of an intelligence-led operation. 

The smuggled cigarettes, branded 'Dunhill' and 'Karelia', have an estimated value of approximately €133,600, representing a potential loss to the Exchequer of over €105,000. 

A man in his 30s has been questioned and investigations are ongoing. 

This seizure is part of Revenue's ongoing operations targeting the supply and sale of illegal cigarettes and tobacco in the shadow economy.
