A rare morning of no delays across the Irish network of motorways has been confirmed by Transport Infrastructure Ireland (TII).

However, despite the freely moving traffic, TII urges people to "drive with care".

There were just minor traffic incidents reported on Friday morning.

There was an incident involving a cyclist / pedestrian on M50 between J11 - Tallaght and J12 - Firhouse (Southbound) at 6.30 am. This was cleared earlier this morning.

In a separate incident, there was a collision at the level crossing at Merrion Road / Strand Road junction in Dublin 4.

Gardaí reported that the crossing is closed to traffic.

"We are advising motorists to expect delays. Avoid the area and consider an alternative route where possible," gardaí posted on social media on Friday morning.
