Paul Mooney's funeral mass will take place at St Mary’s Church, Ramelton, on Friday
The man killed in a crash in Manorcunningham, Co Donegal, on Monday night has been named as talented musician Paul Mooney.
Tributes have been paid to Paul, from Ramelton, following the news of his passing. He was a member of the Boy M5 band and was in his early thirties.
“We are all devastated to learn of the passing of Paul Mooney,” Letterkenny Pride posted. "We want to extend our love and condolences to Paul's family, bandmates, his many friends and loved ones.
“Last summer we got to see first-hand how Paul used his talent and passion to make people happy when Boy M5 played at the Brewery Bar for Letterkenny Pride. As the community begins to process this tragedy we are reminded to hug our loved ones a little tighter this Christmas. RIP Paul and thank you.”
Cora Harkin Music posted: “Devastated to learn of the passing of mentor, band mate and friend Paul Mooney. So privileged to have shared the stage, studio and rehearsal room. Such a sweet and talented guy. Our condolences go out to Paul's family and friends. Thinking of Nicole and Kyle and all the Boy M5 lads. Rest in peace.”
Paul is survived by his loving parents Morgan and Gwen, partner Nicolle, sisters Maeve and Julianne and their partners Seamus and David, nana Frances, uncles, aunts, cousins, extended family and friends.
Paul is reposing at his home with wake on Wednesday, December 20 and Thursday, December 21 from 11am until 10pm. Those attending the wake between the hours of 6pm and 9pm should park at St Mary’s Church, Ramelton and a bus will be provided from there.
Requiem mass on Friday, December 22 at 11am in St Mary’s Church, Ramelton. Burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery. Mass can be viewed on Church Services TV St Mary’s Church, Ramelton here.
