Social media users plot advertising plan to turn Vegas Sphere into the Naas ball

A number of witty social media users are plotting a plan to turn the world's newest concert venue, the Las Vegas Sphere, into the Naas ball for a day.

Earlier this week, pictures emerged of a mesmerising performance at the venue by Ireland's own U2.

The Sphere is a fully immersive venue inside and out with thousands of LED displays bringing visuals to audiences. The exterior is covered in 580,000 sq ft of LED displays which can be bought out for advertising for $450,000 a day.

This has been noticed by social media users who are plotting an advertising plan to put Naas, Co Kildare, on the world stage.

X user @Dave_B24 posted: "It costs 450k for one day of advertising on the Vegas sphere. If we all chip in like 50 cent, we could turn it into the Naas Ball for 24 hours."

Fellows users of the social network formerly known as Twitter loved the idea.

"I am absolutely game for this," one wrote, while another added, "Set up a go fund me now. I'm in."

A third joked: "It will only cost you $600,000 for the week now that’s bargain!"

The famous Naas Ball social media accounts even reposted the idea.

No official fundraiser has been set up but we can dream!
