Woman in her 80s dies following collision with e-scooter

An elderly woman has died in hospital following a collision with an e-scooter.

The woman, aged in her 80s, was involved in the collision on Eccles Street in Dublin 7 around 3pm on Tuesday.

She was taken to the Mater Misericordiae University Hospital where she has since died, gardai said on Friday.

A post-mortem examination is set to take place.

A male was arrested and questioned before being released pending a file to the DPP.

Gardai have appealed to anyone who may have witnessed the collision to come forward.

“Any road users who were travelling in the area with camera footage (including dashcam), is asked to make this available to the investigation team,” a spokesperson said.
