An Irish consumer protection group has issued a warning about certain electrical products sold on the eBay platform due to safety concerns.
According to the Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (CCPC), a risk of significant injury was identified from use of both the Plug In Wall Heater 500W Mini Electric Space and the Plug In Wall Heater Portable Mini Electric Fan 900W Space Warmer.
The former has a heating element which can slip down resulting in electric shock, burns or fire, while the latter has a circuit board which was poorly designed and poses the same risks.
A third product, the 500W Plug In Wall Heater Portable Mini Electric Fan Space Warmer, has also been identified as posing a safety concern, however there are no images available for this product.
Given the online availability of these products, they may have been sold to customers in the Republic of Ireland.
If you purchased one of these products, please discontinue use immediately. You may wish to contact the eBay seller to see if there are any remedies available to you. This can be done via your user account on eBay.
