Man and two teenagers arrested following theft of car and dangerous driving

A man and two teenagers have been arrested following the theft of a vehicle and dangerous driving.

The incident occurred in the early hours of this morning (Feburary February 24) on the Dundrum Bypass, where a vehicle failed to stop for a Gardaí patrol at approximately 2am.

Gardaí pursued the vehicle which was observed driving at speed and in a dangerous manner.

A managed containment operation ensued in which a stinger device was successfully deployed on the Edmondstown Road and the vehicle was brought to a halt.

The car was subject to an unauthorised taking in south county Dublin yesterday (Thursday February 23).

Three males (two teenage juveniles and a male in his 20s) were arrested by Gardaí and taken to Dundrum Garda Station.

The teenage juveniles were released from custody pending a referral to the Garda Youth Diversion Programme.

The male, aged in his 20s, was charged in relation to this matter and appeared before Dún Laoghaire District Court this morning.
